From the Hands Of

Folkform invited documentary photographer Magnus Laupa to follow the work of the craftsmen in the Örsjö lamp factory. The resulting images will be presented in Örsjö Belysning stand during Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018. Each new piece has been executed by the hands of skilled craftsmen. The most common definition of craft is that it involves the skill of making things by hand, in a non-mechanised, traditional way, by an individual or a small company. In this exhibition Folkform wishes to exhibit the industrial manufacturing process as a craft in itself, thereby highlighting the tacit knowledge, the people, places and industrial heritage behind the manufacturing of the new lights.
